Yayati – Ancestor of Rama

Entities

Yayati, a renowned king of the Chandravanshi or lunar dynasty, was the son of the mighty Nahusha and an esteemed ancestor of Lord Rama. Known for his legendary wisdom and influence, Yayati’s life is woven with tales of ambition, love, and introspection. His sons—Yadu, Turvasu, Druhyu, Anu, and Puru—established the foundational clans of Indian mythology. Of these, his son Puru, who selflessly exchanged his youth for Yayati’s old age as part of a unique curse, ultimately became the forefather of the Kuru dynasty, further cementing Yayati’s place in history.
