Vasudeva, also known as Vasudevan, is a significant figure in Hindu mythology and the father of Lord Krishna, one of the most revered deities in the Hindu pantheon. According to legend, Vasudeva was the husband of Devaki, the sister of King Kamsa, who was notorious for his cruel and tyrannical rule over the kingdom of Mathura.
As the story goes, Kamsa had a prophetic dream that his own sister’s eighth son would kill him.
