Angirasa is one of the seven revered sages known as the SaptaRishis. He is a Manasaputra, or wish-born son, of Lord Brahma – The Creator. Angirasa’s wife is Suroopa, and they have three sons: Uthathya, Samvarthana, and Brihaspati – The Guru of the Devas. Some traditions mention that he also married Suadha – The wife of Angirasa, the daughter of Daksha.
Angirasa is credited with composing the very first verse of the Rig Veda, a hymn dedicated to Agni, the god of fire. This significant contribution marks him as a pivotal figure in Vedic literature and spiritual teachings.
